The NFL's first female coach, an Obama administration official, stand-up comedian-turned TV journalist and more are the newest members of the Fairfax County Public Schools Hall of Fame.

Educate Fairfax held its third annual FCPS Alumni Hall of Fame induction ceremony in late September, recognizing eight alumni who attended Fairfax County high schools. FCPS Superintendent Michelle Reid presented each honoree with an award recognizing them.

"We are immensely proud of our alumni who have gone on to achieve remarkable success," said Reid. "Their stories reinforce the importance of providing equitable opportunities for all students to discover and pursue their passions."

The FCPS Alumni Hall of Fame event celebrates success stories of alumni who attended Fairfax County's public schools. The event also featured a silent auction to support the Educate Fairfax Scholarship Fund to help high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education at community colleges, trade schools, or universities. The fund also provides financial support to high school juniors and seniors for externships, internships, clinical experiences, and apprenticeships by covering costs for transportation, childcare and other experience related expenses. Educate Fairfax continues to seek donations for the fund.

"Our mission is to ensure every FCPS student has a path to success," said Henry. "By supporting our aspiring students, we are removing financial barriers to post-secondary education and we’re investing in the future leaders of our community."

Educate Fairfax is a nonprofit that raises funds to support students, teachers and schools in FCPS, Virginia's largest school district.
