Met my sweetheart Richard (Rick) Davis at lunch at Lee HS in 1962, after my 7 years at Franconia Elementary where I was once SCA President. We dated and went to prom. Continued to date; he graduated 1963 and I graduated as Salutatorian Class of 1964, Edison HS, where I had lettered in softball, basketball and field hockey.I went off to Longwood College and Virginia Tech. He graduated from VMI 1967 with a commission with USAF after which we married. USAF sent us to Atlanta where he received his Masters from GA Tech 1969.
Then followed tours to Boston, back to DC where our first daughter arrived in 1971, and finally Denver after which he resigned as a Captain and we returned to Springfield in 1975, bought our forever house in Loisdale and he began his long career with the Federal Government. Along came our son in 1976 and another daughter in 1980. When the kids were alI in school (Forestdale, Mark Twain Middle, Lee HS,), I worked part-time with FCPS and then was Kindergarten Assistant at Forestdale Elementary for 15 years. I retired in 2002. We enjoyed trips to Germany and beach trips every summer. In 2017, we celebrated our 50th with our 3 kids and 8 grands plus 3 bonus grands! In 2020 Rick departed this world and I moved to Greenspring 3 years later, where I am quite happy and still close to kids and grands!
